An initiative that brings together scientific outreach, local culture, and collective participation. The project consists of a public lecture-performance in which quantum physicist Flavio Del Santo (University of Vienna) will introduce concepts of modern physics, such as indeterminism and non-locality in quantum mechanics, while Carrara historian Daniele Canali will provide a simultaneous translation into the local dialect.
The event “Fisicarrarino” aims to explore precisely this plurality: the meeting point between scientific knowledge and popular knowledge, between academic language and everyday speech, between a global dimension and local roots.
The initiative originated from a pilot event held in September 2022 in Piazza delle Erbe in Carrara, organized by APS Oltre with the participation of Alma Vittoria Cordiviola. Following the success of that meeting, and thanks to the support of the Municipality of Carrara and the Vienna Center for Quantum Science, in collaboration with A.P.S. Oltre and under UNESCO patronage, the project CreSci – Creative Science in Carrara was launched, with the aim of rediscovering science as a form of creativity and cultural dialogue.
Language: Italian/Carrarino
21:30: Public talk by Flavio del Santo, translated by Daniele Canali.
